Should we only allow Indian bloggers at Blog.co.in?

Recently, we have been thinking of allowing only users from India to to create new blogs at Blog.co.in (Note that the blog’s content will still be accessible to everyone around the world. We are only talking about the blog owners). As our most valued user, we would like to gather your feedback. Your opinion counts.

Should we only allow people from India to create blogs at Blog.co.in?

Why? Simple. We would like to build an exclusive network of Indian Bloggers.

How it works? Signup page will detect the IP Address and location of the user and will send the user to an error page, if the user is not from India. Although 99% of the times, this validation is accurate, at times, we may be blocking some people.

What about NRIs? 95% of our current user base is from India (as of 27-Sep-08). We are only an email away to help NRIs in creating a blog at Blog.co.in.

    This is a must because there is a lot difference between Indian Bloggers and Foreign one. We should not forget that INTERNET has started in the foreign when we had not seen even a COMPUTER.

    this is a nice thinkiing…bcoz…this will increase the accessing speed . and according to my knowledge there are 6 crore people who use there blog daily and 18 % are there who use to update there blog daily.

    so you can imagine what kind of traffic is there…….so its a nice idea……..

    Well, Why should we have an exclusive forum? How wonderful it’d be to have six billion users instead of only one! Also different countries means different stories and cultures.

    most web US & European sites that help you create a site or blogs charge either registration fee or are total scams that link you some other programme.This excelellent fee site should be for indians only.

    it is better to have only Indians to voice their opinions here , because there are many forum for foreigners and they do charge certain amount for blogging . so it should be a golden chance for our people since it is free to express themselves.

    yeah!i think only indians should be allowed to express their views in this blog.there are a lot of cultural differences between india and western countries.they have different concerns from ours,also blogging is highly developed there so they already have more chances than us.

    I could not follow the reason behind such an idea.Why should it be restricted to Indians only? If so restricted, after a time, such restriction may lead to certain controvery.

    Idea of an internet blog is to reach wider audiance who are living across the globe, they may be Indians or Indian orgin or foreigner every one should have access to this blog and should be free to exchange/share/debate ideas and openions.
